Intensive Spanish Course

I took private lessons for a week. We mixed talking with exercises and I learned and had fun, Daniel was a really good teacher.

The teachers were very nice and the classes had a good balance between speaking and grammar. Perhaps a bit more writing and a book (optional to buy for learning) would have been helpful. We always spoke Spanish, which was great.

It was a good decision to take individual classes with my partner. For me it was very good to communicate one hour with Samuel and one hour with Jose. It was very good that we could have our lessons early in the morning. So we were able to have excursions and activities in the afternoon. Brigitte stayed with Daniel for two hours. This was good as well, but it would have been better to divide the two hours. More than two hours would be exhausting for private lessons. It was good to concentrate on free conversation. At home I attend a course where we learn a lot of grammar, but here I focused on the vivid practice of the language.

I went for a week in the school, it was a very good experience, Samuel my teacher was super nice and easy to talk to and eager to tech and educate. However the time was short (only 8 hours due to only 2 students) I did learn a lot and want to go back later for at least 2 weeks.

J’ai d’abord beaucoup apprécié les enseignants. Ils connaissent bien l langue et sont capables de l’enseigner. Ils ont également un bon sens de l’humour ce qui fait en sorte que mon stress s’est envolé rapidement. Au début, nous étions 3 étudiants, la semaine suivante nous étions deux et les deux dernières semaines j’ai eu droit à des cours privés. Mon apprentissage de l’espagnol a beaucoup évolué. Comme les profs ne parlaient pas français, toutes les explications étaient en espagnol. Ce qui m’a permis de mieux comprendre et de parler plus fréquemment. Je me sentais plus à l’aise lorsque j’allais me promener et que quelqu’un me parlait.
Je recommanderais cette école avec plaisir. Et j’ai bien l’intention d’y retourner pour continuer d’apprendre cette belle langue.
La seule chaise un peu plus difficile à supporter a été la chaleur, car il n’y a pas d’air climatisé. Mais ça fait partie du travail en Espagne.

I attended a spanish course during my stay in Tenerife, I was at the Canarias Cultural School in Santa Cruz. First of all thanks a lot to the Director Jose' Gomez who offered me a course suited to me in the morning, so I could visit the island and at the same time learn spanish.
I attended 10 private lessons with Daniel, a very professional teacher, a very friendly person. We spoke a lot together and I learned a lot from our conversations and grammar lessons. I didn't plan social activities with the school.
I reached the level I wished in this time, Daniel encouraged me to pursue learning spanish ( I love this language a lot), in addition to it I appreciated the two hours lesson with the teacher Susanna, it was the last lesson, I repeated with her all what I had studied during the course. The school is near the bus station of Santa Cruz, a very interesting town, it is very easy to reach this place by bus, and then from the bus station you take only ten minutes walking to the school.
I would like to come back to Tenerife and to attend a new course in this friendly school.

Best experience! The school is perfectly located, just a few blocks from the main bus station. I enjoyed a lot my individual lessons with Michelle who was an excellent and competent teacher. We had so many interesting subjects to talk to; through these I've learned a lot about the Canarians, its people, history, culture etc. It was a perfect mix of conversation, learning a new vocabulary and grammatical skills. I can recommend these lessons to anyone who wants to learn not only the Spanish language, but also to get familiar with Spanish culture and its society. I would like to continue my lessons as soon as I'm back in this Fall!

It’s a very small school, no possibility to meet other students from other classes. There wasn’t even a coffee vending machine.
I had private lessons without any additional leisure activities, but I guess the group courses didn’t have anything like this either.
In comparison to other language schools I attended in the past this one is very very basic.

The classroom I was taught in was terribly noisy because of the traffic right outside the window.

Don’t hesitate.. this is the school you are looking for

The overall experience was amazing. The school is amazing, the people are great and welcoming and very professional. I learned a lot during this week. I also enjoyed my classmate a lot. I totally recommend this school. the only thing I hope they learn to do in the future is to protect their employees when they are sick and make them feel safe to take a day off. Especially nowadays we all should know that making them work while sick is not the employer you want to be. Don't risk your employees and your customers health. Capitalism is not your friend. I did not do any social activities so I cannot rate those.

I was a little bit surprised because I had no group. I have studied Spanish about one year now and earlier too. That's why they had to give me an own teacher, Edgar. Edgar was very good and instead of 40 hours in a group I got 1,5 hours pro day as private.

The location was very well, in the centre of Santa Cruz. Because there were not many students there was no activities for me.

Housing was like I expected. Senora was retired like myself and took good care of me. She also told me much about Tenerife and what I could do during my leisure time.

I was actually more on vacation that studying because I had only 1,5 hours lessons pro day. I had enough homework and learned most of structures and verbs.

Because I had so much time for myself it was really not what I expected. But anyway, I learned to listened Spanish and had a nice teacher. They could not do anything for it that I already knew Spanish better than starter on A1 level.

My opinion is that the level of a student should be tested before the student comes, not later. So it could be easier to plan the course. The could also have a starting package to the students including a map of Santa Cruz and information about public transport and tickets.

3 perfect weeks. Very good school. Great involvement of teachers, attentive and caring.

It was a good expérience, good teacher. I'm French and the teacher didn't speak French. So the Spanish words are explain in English. At the beginning, my level in Spanish was A1-. After 2 weeks my level is A2. Activities during the lesson: vocabulary, grammatical, exercises and discussion.

I learned a lot from my Spanish classes at Canarias Cultural in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The teacher, Yurai, was excellent and very patient. In addition to being effective at Spanish language instruction, he was very knowledgeable about Spain, it’s culture and it’s history. I did not need to arrange housing as I already had a place to stay. The school is centrally located and I found it easy to get to by walking or public bus.

I thought the teacher Su really knew what she was doing and was able to answer all of my questions.

She also pushed me to speak more freely, which helped me a lot.
A thing would have liked better, would be having a say in when the lessons take place.

For example: My lessons normally went from 10 am to 1pm, which I thought was quite late if you wanted to go hiking or anything else in the afternoons.

Also my first lessons where together with a woman, who was definitely above my level of speaking, which was quite frustrating in the beginning.

However I think my Spanish has improved a lot.

Jose the manager was helpful and friendly and the 2 teachers Lorenzo and Yeray were both great. It was nice to have a small class of only 5 students.
